Allyson Felix

Allyson Nicole Felix was born on 18 November, 1985, at Los Angeles. Her father Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley as well as their mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix showed an early aptitude for athletics when she was in high school at Los Angeles Baptist High School. She was able to see her speed-running ability at the moment. Within 10 weeks of her first trial, she was with a second-place finish in the 200 meters during the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix signed a contract for an official career at Adidas in 2003. She was then accepted into University of Southern California to study elementary education. One year later Felix won her debut Olympic medal during the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece making an unofficial junior world record sprinting 200 meters at 22.18 seconds. In 2005, she was the youngest world champion of 200 meters of all time at the Helsinki World Championships. She defended this title in 2007 over her former Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix was a frequent competitor in London, Beijing Rio de Jaeiro, and Tokyo. She often finished in the top three of all events.
