Lil Tecca
Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe (born August
26, 2002) also known as Lil Tecca, is an American musician and rapper. The song
he released in 2019 "Ransom" was his breakthrough hit. It reached the
top spot at 4 on the Billboard Hot 100. The mixtape he released as his
debut"We Love You Tecca (2019) included the track. It reached 4 on the US
Billboard 200. The mixtape also featured the singles "Love Me" and
"Did It Again". The debut album of his studio,"Virgo"
(2020) was released at number 10 on the Billboard 200. It also featured the
Billboard Hot 100-charting singles "Dolly" & "When You
Down". His second mixtape We Love You Tecca 2 was released in August 2021.
It included the songs "Repeat It", "Lot of Me" and many
more. Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe was the child of Jamaican immigrants. He was
born on August 26 2002, in Queens, New York City. He was born in Queens in
Springfield Gardens. However, Sharpe eventually moved to Cedarhurst in Long
Island. At a young age, Sharpe had aspirations of being a player in the NBA,
but around 12 years old Sharpe turned his attention toward pursuing a career
path in music. Sharpe was a student at Lawrence High School. Tecca was nine
years of age when he began to rap over his Xbox. One of their diss tracks was
posted to SoundCloud some time ago but was later removed. At first, he did not
have any plans to pursue a musical career however, he had a dream of becoming
an NBA superstar. He started to consider music more seriously when having
dropped the interest in basketball when he was in middle school. His first song
to become well-known, "Tectri", was composed in collaboration with
Lil Gummybear and released in early 2017. The other tracks he has released
include "Callin" as well as "Tectri". The song that he
topped the charts "Ransom," which was first uploaded to Cole
Bennett's Lyrical lemonade YouTube channel on May 22nd of 2019, marked the
beginning of the meteoric rise of Tecca. The track ranked 4 on Billboard's Hot
100 chart. The track has had more than 900 million Spotify plays and over
300,000,000 YouTube views.
