Emma Stone
Emily Jean "Emma" Stone was
born on November 6, 1988 in Scottsdale, Arizona to Krista Jean Stone (nee
Yeager), an experienced homemaker and Jeffrey Charles "Jeff" Stone, a
founder of a contracting firm and CEO. She is of Swedish, German &
British Isles descent. Stone began her acting career as a child as a part of
the Valley Youth Theatre in Phoenix, Arizona, where she made her stage debut in
a production of Kenneth Grahame's "The Wind in the Willows". Through
her teens, Stone performed in numerous other productions until she decided to
make acting her career. According to the official account, she presented her
PowerPoint slide show that was made possible by Madonna's Hollywood and was
dubbed "Project Hollywood" in an attempt to convince her parents and
let her to quit school and relocate to Los Angeles. She and her mother pitched
the pitch and relocated to LA. The schooling she had taken was done at home,
and she was able to spend her time auditioning. She had her TV breakthrough
when she was awarded the role of Laurie Partridge in the VH1 reality show based
on a talent show In Search of the Partridge Family (2004) that was followed by
a string of small TV parts in the subsequent years. After a number of
performances she was then able to portray the character of Jules in Superbad
(2007). Her popularity as Olive was a highlight of her role in Easy A (2010)
followed by several more roles. In Phoenix, Arizona, she went to Xavier College
Preparatory. While she is a redhead, her natural hair shade her hair is blonde.
It was Judd Apatow who suggested she switch her hair color to Superbad (2007)
and she loved it so much that she decided to keep the color. She convinced her
parents to allow her to move to Hollywood when she turned 15 by creating the
PowerPoint presentation with the title, Project Hollywood. She began acting at
the age of 11 years old, at Phoenix's Valley Youth Theatre. Here she performed
on more than 16 stages, and was a part of the comedy improv troupe of the
theatre. Caylee Cowan also performed at the Valley Youth Theatre.
